Description
No. 34 Walmgate is a house, now used as offices, dating from around 1700 and the early 18th century, with later alterations and a 20th-century shopfront. The front is rendered, with the right return rendered on the ground floor and orange-red brick in random bond above, painted on the first floor. It features a steeply pitched pantile roof.
The exterior has a two-storey, two-window front. The shopfront includes a glazed door and plate glass windows. The first-floor windows are one-pane sashes with painted sills. Timber guttering is supported by paired modillions, with a fluted bowl rainwater head at the right end. At the rear, there is a two-storey gabled wing with elliptical brick arches over altered first-floor windows. The interior has not been inspected.
