Description
13 and 14 Colliergate is a pair of houses that have been converted into two shops. They were built in the early 18th century, with a shopfront added in the late 19th century and some alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from red brick in Flemish bond, with orange brick dressings, and feature a timber shopfront. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with slate, supported by brick stacks.
The exterior has a three-storey, five-bay front. The altered shopfront retains plain pilasters and cornices between carved and grooved consoles. On the first floor, No. 13 has 12-pane sash windows, while No. 14 has 12-pane pivoting windows. On the second floor, No. 13 features two 8-pane casements, and No. 14 has Yorkshire sashes, all of which have flat arches made of rubbed brick. There is a five-course band at the second floor level. The interior has not been inspected.
