Description
This barn, built in 1796 for John Uppleby, is located approximately 50 metres east of Wootton Hall. It features a rectangular plan and is constructed of brick with a pantile roof. The barn has undergone some later alterations and additions and forms the south-east side of the stable yard.
On the east side, the barn is a tall single storey with three bays. It has a board door with strap hinges beneath a segmental arch, a casement window with glazing bars to the right also beneath a segmental arch, and a pitching hatch to the left with a board door featuring strap hinges. The eaves cornice is stepped and dentilled, and the roof is hipped.
The right return includes a pitching hatch with a board door and an inserted casement. At the rear, there is an inserted cart entrance with board doors beneath a segmental arch. The barn is included for its group value.
