Description
These gates, gate piers, and adjoining walls were built in 1796 for John Uppleby and are located approximately 45 metres east of Wootton Hall. The structure features cast-iron gates, brick walls, and piers topped with ashlar coping. It serves as the north entrance to the stable yard, with the walls connecting the stable range to the west and the house to the east. The walls are about one metre long and ramp down to square piers. The pair of gates has lower interlaced panels, ramped top rails, plain vertical bars, and dog bars with fleur-de-lys finials. One of the gates on the left is damaged and missing its outer section. This structure is included for its group value.
