61, Ealand Outgate

No. 61 Ealand Outgate is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is built of brick and has a colour-washed finish, topped with a pantile roof. The house features a two-room layout with a central entrance and stands gable end to the street. It is a single storey with an attic and has two windows. The entrance includes a 20th-century glazed door, flanked by modern casements that are not in keeping with the original design, which are set beneath segmental arches. The eaves are stepped, and the gables are stone-coped with shaped kneelers. There is an end stack on the right and a later external stack on the left. The right gable has an attic window with 20th-century glazing and wrought-iron letters "M D". Inside, the house features chamfered spine beams and exposed joists. An adjoining extension to the left is not considered of special interest.
