Description

Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of red-brown brick and features a pantile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a two-room layout with a lobby-entry on the east front and a wing extending to the rear right. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has four bays on the front.

The entrance is located in the third bay and features a 19th-century door with an overlight, flanked by single 19th-century four-pane sliding sashes, all set beneath 19th-century segmental stretcher arches. The first bay has a blocked opening beneath an original 18th-century rubbed-brick flat arch. A three-course brick band runs along the first floor. The first-floor windows consist of 19th-century four-pane sliding sashes beneath segmental arches in the second and fourth bays, while the first bay has a blocked window and the third bay features a blind recessed window panel, both beneath original rubbed-brick arches that are shallower than those on the ground floor. The eaves are plain and have been rebuilt with a stepped design, previously cogged in brick.

The left gable end has two-course brick bands at the first floor and eaves level, a blocked attic door, and wrought-iron letters "R R" on the gable. The right return includes a ground-floor board door, a 20th-century casement window, a small ventilator hatch, a panelled door, and a 16-pane sliding sash, all beneath segmental arches. There is also a blocked door and a wooden ventilator hatch at the far right. On the first floor, there is a 16-pane sliding sash to the right, with a blocked original window opening to the left, both beneath segmental header arches. The eaves cornice is stepped and cogged in brick, and the gable is coped with a projecting end stack. The right end has a 20th-century rebuilt upper section with an incongruous single-pitch roof.

The left return of the rear wing features a first-floor band and sashes beneath segmental arches. At the time of resurvey, the building was empty and disused, and the interior had not been investigated.
