Description
No. 19 South Cliff Road is a house built in the mid-18th century, with later alterations from the 19th century and a rear extension. The building is constructed of squared limestone with brick dressings and features a concrete tile roof. It has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys tall, with two windows on the first floor. The corners of the house are accentuated with quoins. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed panelled door set in a panelled reveal with a wooden architrave, flanked by flush sash windows that have incised stucco cambered arches. The first floor has two 12-pane sliding sash windows beneath plain stucco cambered arches, and all windows are fitted with stucco cills. The eaves are stepped, and there is brick edging at the gables topped with stone coping. A central brick stack is present, and the left side of the house features a 19th-century ground floor canted bay, with a first floor 12-pane sliding sash under a channelled stucco flat arch, as well as a blocked attic doorway with a segmental brick arch.
