Description
No 13 on South Cliff Road is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, although it has earlier origins. The lower section is made of roughly-coursed limestone rubble, while the upper part features squared limestone with some brick dressings. The house has a brick chimney stack and a pantile roof. It follows a two-room lobby-entry plan with an outshut and stands two storeys tall, featuring two first-floor windows. The first-floor left side has brick quoins. The entrance is located to the left of centre and includes a 19th-century panelled door set in a plain wooden surround with a slightly projecting hood. To the left of the entrance, there is a 12-pane flush sash window under a segmental brick arch, and to the right, a 16-pane flush sash window in a segmental-headed brick surround. On the first floor, there are two 12-pane flush sliding sash windows under segmental brick arches. The building has stepped brick eaves and a central axial stack.
