Description

The Statue of Prince Albert, dated 1868, is located 250 metres west of the entrance to Pearson Park in Kingston upon Hull. Created by Thomas Earle, this life-size figure is made of white marble and stands on a square pedestal featuring a moulded plinth and cornice. Each side of the pedestal has recessed panels with shields, and the front panel includes an inscription. The statue is set on a square granite base that has a string course. It was erected through public subscription to complement the statue of Queen Victoria, which was installed in 1863.
