Description
High Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond with stone dressings and has a pantiled roof. The house features a central direct entry and a rear wing. It stands two storeys high with attics and has a symmetrical elevation with three bays. There are three sandstone steps leading up to a 20th-century glazed door, which is set under a flat gauged brick arch with a keyblock. This door is flanked by 16-pane sash windows with sills, also under flat gauged brick arches with raised keyblocks. A band runs across the first floor, which features 16-pane sashes with sills under similar flat gauged brick arches with keyblocks. The eaves cornice is dentilled brick, and there are end stacks with bands and stepped cornices, as well as tumbled-in brick at the raised gables.
