Description

The Elms is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of brown brick in English garden wall bond and has a pantiled roof. The house has a central direct entry plan and stands two storeys tall with three bays, along with a lower single-bay extension to the right. The entrance features a 20th-century door beneath a fanlight with radial glazing, set within a doorcase that has fluted pilasters supporting an open pediment. The ground-floor windows are 20-pane unequal sashes with sills beneath wedge lintels, while the first-floor windows are similar but have flat timber lintels. The building is topped with a stepped brick eaves cornice, a hipped roof, and axial stacks. The extension to the right has 20th-century glazing throughout.
