Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick, using English garden wall bond on the left side and Flemish bond on the right. The building has two storeys and attics, featuring a two-window front with a balanced elevation and a rear wing. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with an oblong fanlight, which is set under a cambered wedge lintel. This door is flanked by four-pane sash windows in architraves with sills, also under cambered wedge lintels. The first floor has similar windows. The roofline is marked by a stepped brick eaves cornice, and there are end stacks. The raised gables have tumbled-in brick with kneelers. The Cottage is included for its group value with other nearby buildings.
