Description
Hirst Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of brown brick and has a Welsh slate roof. The building features a double-depth plan with a central entrance hall and consists of two rooms on the north front. It is two storeys high with an attic and has three bays. The entrance, located to the left of the centre, includes a 19th-century panelled door with a plain overlight, set within a pilastered doorcase that has moulded capitals, a plain entablature, and a hood. This entrance is flanked by 20th-century casement windows in original openings, which have keyed rubbed-brick segmental arches above them. There is a two-course brick band at the first floor. The first floor has similar windows, along with a blind central window panel. The end stacks have been rebuilt. There is a boarded door on the right gable and a blocked door on the left gable. The interior has not been investigated.
