Description

Middle Farmhouse is an early 18th-century house, with alterations from the early 19th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, now whitewashed, and red brick with stucco dressings. The roof is covered in pantiles. The house is two storeys and has a garret, with three bays; an advanced bay is located on the left side and the plan includes a lobby entrance. A rear outshut is present. The front features a plinth and rusticated stucco quoins. The front door is fielded panelled, with a plain overlight, flanked by sixteen-pane side-sliding sash windows, and a similar four-pane sash window to the left. All ground-floor openings are topped with flat stucco arches that have incised voussoirs. Above are three sixteen-pane side-sliding sash windows, each beneath a timber lintel. The rear features tiled raised gables with brick tumbling, a roof with belled eaves, a large brick ridge stack, and a brick gable stack to the left. The rear outshut incorporates two segment-headed doors and a small-pane casement window. The interior has not been inspected.
