Description
Northgate House, located at No. 25, is a house dating from the late 18th century, though it may have earlier origins. The building is constructed of brick, which is colour-washed, and features a pantiled roof. It has a main range that is two storeys high and consists of three bays, presenting a symmetrical elevation, along with a rear wing.
The central entrance features a panelled door with an overlight, set within a 20th-century canopied doorcase. On either side of the door are three-light sliding sash windows with glazing bars. The first floor has three two-light sliding sash windows, also with glazing bars. A stepped brick eaves cornice adds to the architectural detail. The roof includes two 20th-century dormers, each with three-light sliding sash windows that have glazing bars. The house has end stacks and tumbled-in brickwork at the raised gables, which rest on brick kneelers.
