Description
Nos 16-22 on The Weir is a terrace of four houses built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of grey brick and feature slate roofs. They are two storeys tall with an 11-window front.
No 16, on the right, has a four-panel door with an overlight, set in a panelled soffit and reveals. To the right, there is a sash window with glazing bars and a sill beneath a cambered wedge lintel. No 18 features a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, also in a panelled soffit and reveals, flanked by sash windows with glazing bars and sills under cambered wedge lintels on both sides. No 20 has a four-panel door with an overlight in a similar panelled soffit and reveals, flanked by identical sash windows. No 22 has a four-panel double-leaf replacement door and overlight, with identical sash windows on either side.
On the first floor, there are 11 sash windows with glazing bars and sills under cambered wedge lintels. Nos 20 and 22 have a bracketed timber eaves cornice. The terrace features end and axial stacks and has a hipped roof.
