Description
The stable block at Melbourne Hall is a Grade II listed building constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, topped with a pantile and cast tile roof. It has two storeys, with the central bay rising to three storeys, and features seven bays arranged in a 2:1:1:1:2 pattern.
On the ground floor, the central bay projects slightly forward and contains a large round-arched recess that houses a boarded door with an overlight. This is flanked by a 20-pane window with sills, except for bay 6, which has a blank opening. All openings are set under flat gauged brick arches.
The first floor mirrors this arrangement with similar windows in the three central bays, featuring sliding sashes with sills and glazing bars, all under segmental brick arches, while bay 6 remains blank. The building is adorned with dentilled eaves cornices and has hipped roofs on the end bays, gabled roofs on bays 3 and 5, and a coped gable with an unglazed Diocletian window in the centre bay.
