Description
The former holdings shed, located approximately 45 meters to the northwest of Burton Agnes, was built in the mid to late 19th century for the North Eastern Railway. This two-storey structure is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with red brick dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has three bays, with a central gabled breakforward and a tall single-storey, five-bay range to the left.
In the main range, the right bay contains boarded openings under flat arches made of red rubbed brick on both storeys, while the other bays have multi-paned tall windows set under segmental arches of red brick. A hoist is present at the central gable, and the eaves are overhanging. The gable end features a blocked opening with a segmental arch of red brick. The bays of the left range are defined by pilaster strips, with double plank doors in the third bay topped by a flat arch of red gauged brick, and in the fifth bay, double plank doors with a divided overlight. A flat window is located on the roof, and an oculus with slats is present at the gable end, surrounded by gauged red brick.
