Description
The east stable range and adjoining wall at New Breaks Farm date from the early 19th century, with later 19th-century infilling on the west side of the stable range. The structure is built of brick and features a pantile roof, except for a section of corrugated asbestos at the north end. The wall has stone coping. This single-storey stable range forms the east side of the foldyard.
On the west side, there is a board door and hatch to the left, both set beneath segmental arches, with an infilled section to the right that includes three board doors and three hatches, all also beneath segmental arches. To the right, there are 20th-century double board doors and a hipped roof. The south side has a single hatch. The east side features a round-headed entrance at the far right and a row of small breathers below the eaves.
The adjoining wall across the south side of the foldyard has plain ashlar coping, with double wooden gates to the right and a single wooden gate to the left. A lean-to on the north side of the wall is not of special interest. This building is included for its group value with the threshing barn and the stable/granary range located on the north and west sides of the foldyard.
