Description

Wilberforce Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a colour-washed finish with a pantile roof. The layout features two rooms with a central entrance hall, a contemporary kitchen and dairy extension to the left, and an outshut along with a later wing at the rear. The building stands two storeys tall and has three bays, presenting a symmetrical façade that includes a single-storey and attic extension on one side.

The entrance features a doorcase with scrolled consoles supporting a cornice and hood, with a later 19th-century panelled door beneath a moulded cornice and a plain overlight in the reveal. The ground floor has four-pane flush sash windows in their original openings, topped with stucco flat arches. The first floor has smaller windows, including a narrower 12-pane central sash flanked by four-pane sashes, all set in original flush wooden architraves. The eaves are stepped, and the raised gables feature tumbled-in brickwork. The end stacks are prominent.

The extension includes a 16-pane sash window in a flush wooden architrave beneath a stucco flat arch, with a small four-pane sliding sash to the left and an attic board door on the left return. Inside, the farmhouse features an open well staircase with a closed string, a corniced handrail, and column balusters, along with beamed ceilings.
