Description
Ashelford is a 17th-century building located on the north side of Beverley Butcher Row. It has two storeys and an attic, constructed from painted brick. The roof is hipped with old tiles and features a flat-headed dormer with glazing bars. The building has two windows with hung sashes and glazing bars, set in near flush frames with flat arches. The parapet has been recently rebuilt, and the shop front has modern glazing. Inside, there are doors with fielded panels and remnants of H hinges. The staircase from the 17th century includes massive turned balusters, a closed string, and heavy rectangular newels topped with ball finials.
