Description

Fangfoss Hall is a late 18th-century house. It is constructed of reddish-grey brick with stone dressings, and has a slate roof. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical facade of five bays. A plinth rises to four stone steps with revetting walls, leading to a panelled and glazed front door, which sits beneath a fanlight with radial glazing within a rusticated surround. A Tuscan porch with a low pediment shelters the entrance. The ground-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within a sill band under slightly cambered gauged brick arches. A first-floor band separates the ground and first floors. The first floor has five smaller sash windows with a sill band. The second floor features six-pane sashes, also under slightly cambered gauged brick arches. The building has a modillion eaves cornice, end stacks, and a hipped roof.
