Description
The gates, gate piers, and screen walls at West Ella Hall date from the mid-18th century, with the gates themselves added in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from red brick with stone dressings and feature cast-iron gates. The central structure includes an elliptical arch with a raised keyblock, situated beneath a parapet that has a central raised blank panel. This arch is flanked by piers topped with cornices and ball finials. The screen walls have round-headed blank arches with stone imposts below the parapets, which are also flanked by smaller piers with ball finials. The cast-iron gates are decorated with rosettes and have ramped top rails.
