Description
White Cross Cottage is a toll house, now a house, built in the late 18th century in the Gothick style. It is two storeys high and features a symmetrical elevation with three bays, the centre bay slightly projecting forward. The building has boarded doors with blank trefoil-headed panels and fanlights, which are set under ogee gauged brick arches on both sides. The centre bay contains a 16-pane sash window also under an ogee gauged brick arch. On the first floor, there is a 16-pane sash window flanked by sashes with intersecting glazing bars, all situated under ogee gauged brick arches. The cottage is topped with a crenellated parapet and has rear wall stacks.
