Description
Southernwood is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of pinkish-yellow brick, featuring stone dressings and a cement tile roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical elevation with five bays, along with ranges at the rear. The central entrance consists of a six-fielded-panel door with a divided overlight, framed by a pilastered surround that includes consoles and a hood. The windows are four-pane sashes with stone sills, all set beneath channelled wedge lintels with keystones. The house also has ashlar kneelers, brick copings, and end stacks, with tumbled-in brickwork on the gable ends. Inside, some windows have shutters.
