Description
South Lodge Cottage is an early 19th-century house with later alterations. It is built from reddish-yellow brick and has a slate roof. The building is octagonal in shape, with a range extending to the rear and is a single storey. The central entrance features a six-fielded-panel door with an overlight, positioned between two blocked windows that have ashlar sills, all beneath a continuous stepped hoodmould. Casement windows are present on alternate sides, while other openings are blocked. All openings have ashlar sills and hoodmoulds with label stops. The cottage has overhanging eaves, a hipped roof, and a central ridge stack.
