Description

Tymperon House is a mid-18th century building originally constructed as an almshouse. It is built of red brick with a hipped pantiled roof and a boldly moulded eaves cornice. The main elevation features three recessed arched bays, defined by stone imposts, and contains three windows on each floor. The ground floor windows have gauged brick arches, while those on the first floor are segmental and set within semi-circular recessed arches. The original heavy sash bars are present in all the windows. A moulded stone architrave frames the heavy six-panel door and fanlight. A stone base extends to pilasters. The elevation facing Dog and Duck Lane is four windows wide, with the first-floor windows having segmental heads. Internally, the rooms are arranged off a central corridor.
