Description
No. 22 Lairgate is a building dating from around 1820. It is two storeys tall and constructed of red brick with stone dressings, topped by a slate roof. The wood spouting is supported by pairs of stone-shaped brackets. The façade features three windows with stone rusticated heads, each adorned with keystones carved with an anthemion design. The windows are hung sashes with glazing bars and have stone cill strings at both the first and ground floors. The building has a stone plinth and a central doorcase featuring an applied Doric order in wood, which frames an 8-panel door and a fanlight above. Additionally, there are two cast iron foot scrapers at the entrance.
