Description
Nos 1, 2, and 3 Cross Street are 18th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and are constructed of painted brick. Number 1 features three windows on the second floor, which are sliding casements with glazing bars. The first floor has near-flush-frame sash windows with glazing bars and stuccoed flat arches. There are three shop windows with wooden cases, two of which are flanked by pilasters and topped with a dentil cornice. Number 3, dating from the early 19th century, has three hung sash windows with glazing bars and near-flush frames. It also has two entrances, each with divided rectangular fanlights; one entrance includes a door with six sunk panels. A garage extension is present, featuring two windows and a hoist door above. This group of buildings forms a notable ensemble with No 48 Toll Gavel.
