The first-floor windows are set above a cill string and have reeded architraves with paterae and cornices, while the second-floor windows also feature reeded architraves and paterae. The building has rusticated quoins and a simple wood cornice with widely spaced block brackets supporting the wood gutter. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The flank of the building facing the Guildhall is plain. There is a side wing that is two storeys high, built of brick with a tiled roof, featuring four segmental-headed sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals.
