Description

This is a circa 1703 building, likely designed by T Elliner. It is a two-storey and attic structure built of painted brick, topped with a pantile roof and featuring two dormers with steep pediments. An early 19th-century wood eaves cornice runs around the building. The front originally had five windows in the central section, with smaller closet windows at each end, though these have now been bricked up at ground and first floor level. Two wide sash windows dating from circa 1820, with rendered lintels, are on the ground floor, and the centre doorway features six fielded panels above a rectangular fanlight. A moulded plinth runs along the base of the building. A large Venetian window is visible from Walkergate, indicating a hall at the rear and dating from the mid-18th century. The interior includes a mid-18th century staircase and doorways.
