Description
Hook House is an early 19th-century house located on Hook Church Lane. It is built of grey brick in Flemish bond with stone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The house has a square plan with a central hallway entry and is two storeys high with three bays. It features a plinth and steps leading up to a six-fielded-panel door with a margin-glazed overlight set in a Tuscan doorcase. The windows are 16-pane sashes with stone sills and are topped with channelled wedge lintels that have fluted keystones. The roof is hipped with stacks at the ends. Inside, there is a moulded elliptical arch leading to the hall and an open-string staircase with slender turned balusters. There is a late 19th-century extension at the rear, but it is not considered of special interest.
