Description
Cross Keys Cottage is a house originally comprising three cottages, built in the late 18th century. It features red brick construction with pantiled roofs. The central cottage is a single storey with attics and has two bays. It includes a four-panel door flanked by sash windows with glazing bars, all set under segmental brick arches, and has four-panel shutters. The eaves cornice is stepped in brick, and there are roof dormers with glazing bars. The ends have stacks with tumbled-in brick leading to raised gables.
The right cottage is also single storey with two bays. It has a door made of six raised and fielded panels, flanked by a sash window with glazing bars on the left and a 20th-century window with glazing bars on the right. This cottage features a dentilled and stepped brick eaves cornice and a raised gable.
The left cottage is a single storey with attics and a continuous rear outshut, consisting of a single bay. It has a four-panel door to the right and a sash window with glazing bars to the left. This section also has a stepped brick eaves cornice, an end stack, and tumbled-in brick leading to a raised gable.
