Description
No. 36 Church Street is a house built in 1789, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantiled roof with an L-shaped plan. The building has two storeys and four bays arranged in a 1:1:2 pattern. The entrance consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels, topped with an overlight and set beneath a wedge lintel, with the datestone positioned above. On either side of the door, there are 4-pane sash windows with sills, also under wedge lintels, and a smaller 4-pane sash window is located at the extreme right. The first floor has similar window arrangements. The house has end and axial stacks, with tumbled-in brickwork on the raised gable.
