Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Greendale Road in Port Sunlight. They were built in 1894. The houses are constructed of brick with a granite chip rendering to the first floor, and have a tile roof. They are arranged as one storey with an attic, and consist of four bays, with the first bay projecting forward under a gable. A cornice runs along the ground floor, and there is some decorative brickwork (diapering) to the first floor. The ground floor windows are four-light leaded casements. The first-floor windows have brick ovolo mullions. The first bay’s three-light window has a transom, flanked by pilasters, a cornice, and diapered gable. The second bay has a three-light window within a gabled half-dormer with pilasters and a diapered apron. The third and fourth bays have three-light windows paired within gabled half-dormers, each featuring a diapered gable and apron. A two-light window is located at the end. The entrances are sheltered by pedimented canopies, with the central two entrances paired, and feature four-panel doors with leaded lights. The right return side has a diapered gable and a two-storey canted bay window with a hipped roof.
