Description

This is a post box located at the junction of Alton Road and Lorne Road in Birkenhead, built between 1866 and 1871. It was designed by Penfold and manufactured by Cochrane of Dudley. The post box is made of cast iron and features a hexagonal shape with a moulded base, bands, and cornice. It is topped with a petal ogival cap and an acorn finial.
