Description

A group of three houses located on New Chester Road, Bebington, built in 1898 by Douglas and Fordham. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings, with pebbledash on the first floor and a tile roof. They are two storeys high and have a three-bay arrangement. The first floor has a projecting cornice. The windows are small-paned casements; those on the ground floor have four lights with cornices, while the first floor windows are five-light oriels. The entrances feature moulded stone surrounds with segmental-pointed heads and drip moulds, and have planked doors with three leaded lights. The houses have a cross-axial and a left gable-end stack. The rear of the houses is similar in design. Buttresses are flush with the front of the buildings. The group value is derived from their well-executed architectural detailing and contribution to the character of the Port Sunlight area.
