Description
A terrace of four houses at 19-25 Pool Bank, Port Sunlight, built around 1899 by Huon A. Matear. The houses are constructed of brick with pebbledash and have a tile roof. They are arranged as one storey with an attic, spanning five bays, with the central bay projecting and featuring a shaped parapet. A tile canopy extends over the ground floor pebbledash above and to the central bay, resting on a brick base. The windows are small-paned casements; the ground floor has paired three-light windows to the central bay with lights set at the angles, and five-light bow windows at the ends. The first floor of the central bay has paired two-light windows. Raking half-dormers, with three-light windows to the first bay and paired two-light windows to others, light the attic. The entrances are set between low walls and posts and feature plank doors with three lights. Brick stacks are arranged cross-axially and at the gable ends. The rear of the houses is similar in design, including raking dormers and privies.
