Description
This is a terrace of seven houses located at 11-17 Greendale Road, Port Sunlight, built in 1902 by Wilson and Talbot. The design is timber-framed, with a stone base and a stone slate roof, featuring brick stacks. The terrace is ten bays wide, with the central two bays and the second and fourth bays projecting forward under gables. The end bays project further, creating gables to both the front and returns, which are paired with the adjoining gables. The gabled bays incorporate coved jettied first floors and jettied gables. Decorative timberwork adorns the first floor. Windows have leaded glazing with decorative details, with five-light windows on the ground floor and four-light windows on the first floor, except for the fourth and seventh bays where two-light windows are present. The entrances feature trefoil-headed plank doors with leaded lights. There are eight cross-axial stacks and two outer return lateral stacks, all with stone bases and stone caps. Some brickwork is visible on the left return. The rear of the buildings is roughcast, and dormers and privies are present. The design is reportedly based on Kenyon Peel Hall in Lancashire.
