Description
No. 8 Lowwood Grove is a house built around 1850. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with a central entrance that is set beneath an advanced pedimented gable. The entrance consists of a six-panelled door with an overlight, framed by a stone architrave and flanked by stone canted bay windows that have a cast iron parapet and 36-pane sash windows. The upper windows are 24-pane sashes. There is a decorative brick eaves cornice, and axial stacks are located towards the rear. This house is part of the original development of Clifton Park, which was laid out by Walter Scott during the 1840s and 1850s.
