Description

This is a terrace of seven houses located at 12-18 Windy Bank, Bebington, Port Sunlight. They were built in 1902 by Grayson and Ould. The houses are constructed with roughcast over a brick base, with timbered gables and tile roofs. They are two storeys high and arranged with a seven-bay central section, and two bays projecting forward under asymmetrical gables, mirroring the returns of three-bay canted-back wings. The end bays of the wings also project forward under gables, with the left-hand wing projecting by one bay. A timber band runs over the ground floor and, to either side of the central bay, there are three bays with ground-floor tile canopies supported by posts. The central three bays feature timber-framed first floors. The windows are small-paned casements, with two, three, or four lights. The central bay is flanked by raking half-dormers. The entrances have doors with small-paned windows above. The inner angles of the wings have canted entrances, with brackets supporting the first-floor angles. There are four stacks arranged cross-axially and two stacks running laterally.
