Description

Rainford Farmhouse, also known as Clay Lane Farmhouse, dates back to 1690, as indicated above the inner doorway, which is sheltered by a modern brick porch. The house is constructed of stone, featuring larger blocks at the bottom that gradually become smaller in the upper courses. It has a roof made of thick slates and two chimneys made of old brick. The building has two low storeys, with three windows on each floor. Most of these windows have been replaced with modern casements that have a horizontal design, all set within heavy stone frames.
