Description
A row of three houses located at 123, 125, and 127 Marshside Road, Southport, likely dating from the later 18th century and altered subsequently. The walls were rebuilt in brick around 1926 and are now rendered and painted white; the roofs are thatched with small brick chimneys. The houses are laid out in a long, single-depth plan perpendicular to Marshside Road, with various 20th-century additions to the rear.
The exterior is single-storied, displaying a 3:3:3 window arrangement. Nos. 123 and 125 each feature a small gabled porch to the left. They have casement windows with 3, 2, and 2 lights; the windows at No. 123 are smaller, with one light incorporating a small top-hung casement, while those at No. 125 are from the late 20th century. No. 127 has three oblong windows with altered glazing, the third being a small canted bow. A doorway with a glazed door is situated between the second and third windows.
The interior of the houses has not been inspected. This row represents a good example of a building type characteristic of the local area.
