Description

The North Bridge over Serpentine Lake in the Botanic Gardens is a footbridge likely built around 1876. It is constructed of brick and cast iron, featuring a wooden deck. The horizontal bridge is supported by brick piers at both ends and in the center, with cast-iron I-beams. It has panelled cast-iron posts at each end and in the center, along with ornamental cast-iron openwork balustrades. This bridge is part of a group with the Museum and Fern House, and it matches the South Bridge.
