Description

Wellington Terrace comprises a row of eight houses built in 1818, located on Lord Street in Southport. The terrace is constructed of white painted scored stucco with a slate roof, red ridge tiles, and rendered chimneys. Each house follows a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with halls adjoining pairs and coupled back extensions.

The exterior presents a regular 16-window facade. Narrow, round-headed doorways are arranged in pairs, most with panelled doors, a single step, and fanlights featuring radiating glazing bars or metal tracery. The doorways at numbers 6 and 8 have fluted pilasters and cornices supported by consoles. Windows above the doorways are paired, generally featuring 6/6 sash windows, although numbers 6, 10, 12, 16 and 18 have altered glazing. Full-height, flat-roofed canted bay windows are present, with numbers 14 and 18 having 8/8 and 6/6 sashes respectively, while the others have altered glazing; number 6 features casement windows with Art Deco leading. The roof is hipped on the left end and features three ridge chimneys. The interior has not been inspected.
