Description

The former farm buildings on the north side of the courtyard at Crosby Hall Educational Trust date from probably the late 18th century and have been altered over time. They are constructed from coursed sandstone rubble and feature slate roofs with red ridge tiles. The layout is in an L-shape, consisting of a long low range with a higher range, which is the provender house, at the right end, and a short south wing at the west end. The provender house has two segmental-arched wagon doorways that are offset to the left, now fitted with wooden screens and doors. The main range continues to the left and includes three square-headed doorways with plain surrounds, each accompanied by a small window to the right, along with an inserted doorway to the right of the first. The left wing contains two doorways, a six-pane window, and a small chimney on the ridge. The interior has not been inspected. These buildings form a group with the main range of Crosby Hall Educational Trust, which is located on the south side of the courtyard.
