Farmhouse, with attached barn. Early C18; altered. House of brown handmade brick in irregular bond, barn of coursed sandstone rubble, both with slate roofs and that to the house graduated. Double-depth double-fronted house, with single-depth barn attached to right-hand gable wall. EXTERIOR: the house is 2 storeys plus attic, 3 windows (the centre blocked), with a 2-course band over each floor, a segmental-headed doorway in the centre with C20 half-glazed door, and square segmental-headed windows on both floors, all with rebuilt surrounds and now furnished with 3-light casements (except that in the centre at 1st floor which is blocked with old bricks), and all these openings with gauged brick heads. Gable chimneys. Small attic window in each gable wall. Rear (slightly altered) has central stair-window. INTERIOR: altered, but modern boarding to staircase may conceal original balusters. The barn attached to the right is single storey, with 3 blocked square windows close to the left end, and slit breathers immediately below the eaves. Rear has wagon doorway with lintel made of re-used C17 floor joist, and interior contains similar re-used beam. Collectively all the buildings in Little Crosby Conservation Area form a valuable group of similar scale but varied dates, materials and style.
