Description
Nos. 15-21 on Great George Square is a terrace of four houses built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and three bays, with the central six bays projecting forward under a pediment. There is a sill band on the first floor, along with a top cornice and blocking course. The windows have gauged brick flat arches and are sashed with glazing bars. Plain iron railings enclose the areas in front of the houses.
No. 15 has a round-headed entrance with a door case that includes flat pilasters and a complete fanlight. Nos. 17 and 19 also have round-headed entrances with remnants of doorcases, rendered arches, and six-panel doors. The first-floor windows of these houses feature plastered flat arches and bowed balconies. There are two windows in the pediment, and the houses have a tiled roof. No. 21 has a round-headed entrance, a first-floor iron balcony, and casement windows.
