Description

14 and 16 Nelson Street are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two bays. There is a sill band on the first floor and a cornice at the top. The windows feature wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The ground floor has shop windows that were inserted in the 20th century. No 14 has a blocked fanlight and a 20th-century door, while No 16 features a Doric doorcase with fluted columns and a boarded fanlight. There are plain iron area railings in front of the houses.
