Description

Minerva Chambers is an office building dating from the 1880s. It is constructed of stone with a slate roof. The building is four storeys high, with a basement and attic, and comprises seven bays of varying widths. Attached shafts with foliated capitals support a cornice, dividing the basement, first, and second floor bays. The windows in the second and sixth bays are tripartite with iron mullions. First-floor windows, with segmental heads cut by flat floors, have wider windows in the fourth and sixth bays. Second-floor windows are round-headed, with carved pendants between them. Third-floor windows have projecting sills on brackets. A top, bracketed cornice and parapet are decorated with carved panels and feature a central inscription reading "MINERVA CHAMBERS." The building has a Mansard roof with round dormers.
